George Pfoertner

George Pfoertner is a corporate editorial photographer and photojournalist based in Chicago.

georgeathomeHis clients have included news outlets, corporations, architecture, design and public relations firms, universities and non-profits.

He began his career in 1988 at an architectural photography studio. After going out on his own, his work has taken him to Hong Kong, Mexico, Brazil and throughout the United States.

His photojournalism work has appeared in numerous newspapers, magazines, websites and other publications. He’s covered every thing from natural disasters to sports, from political rallies to everyday life.

His labor of love is documenting every day life in Ecuador and the work of Causes for Change International, providers of free medical, dental and hearing exams.

George was a contributing photographer to CITY 2000, a year-long documentary project chronicling all of the neighborhoods of the city of Chicago for the entire year of 2000. Images are archived at the UIC University Library.

He’s also taught documentary video and filmmaking at Wayland Academy high school in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin.
